(NEW YORK) – BEYONCÉ is named PEOPLE’s World’s Most Beautiful Woman 2012 in the magazine’s special double issue, now celebrating its 23rd year.
This marks the ninth time the pop superstar singer and actress has made the coveted list. She is joined by fellow “Most Beautiful Woman” Hall of Famers Julia Roberts (13 times), Nicole Kidman (10 times), and Mad Men’s breakout star, Jessica Paré, a newcomer to the list. The 178 fabulous faces featured in the issue
also include such gorgeous guys as David Beckham, Blake Shelton, and Ashton Kutcher, plus PEOPLE’s Sexiest Man Alive, Bradley Cooper.
BEYONCÉ is an entertainment force of nature, a 16-time Grammy winner, a beauty and style icon – and is now proudest of the title that happens to be her most recent – mommy to little Blue Ivy Carter.
“I feel more beautiful than I’ve ever felt because I’ve given birth,” she tells PEOPLE in an exclusive interview. “I have never felt so connected, never felt like I had such a purpose on this earth.”
The “Crazy in Love” singer, 30, and her husband of four years, Jay-Z, 42, have gone gaga for Blue, born Jan. 7 in New York City. “She’s just the cutest thing,”
gushes BEYONCÉ, who croons one-of-a-kind tunes to her daughter and professes to “love” changing diapers. So who does her daughter most resemble?
“She looks like Blue,” says BEYONCÉ, who is back to her pre-baby weight and gearing up for her first post-baby concerts, Memorial Day weekend at the Revel Atlantic City. “She’s her own person.”
"The best thing about having a daughter is having a true legacy," she adds. "The word ‘love’ means something completely different now."
More of BEYONCÉs exclusive interview with PEOPLE, in which she shares her beauty secrets, reveals how she lost the baby weight and sets the record straight on all the rumors, is on newsstands Friday, April 27.

Beyonce is the biggest gainer on this week’s Billboard Social 50 chart, making a massive jump from No. 49 to claim the No. 17 spot after a frenzy of media activity and social buzz following the launch of the pop star’s new Web presence.
The Social 50 chart ranks the most popular artists on YouTube, Vevo, Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, using a formula that blends weekly additions of friends/fans/followers along with weekly artist page views and weekly song plays.
The launch of the Beyonce’s official Web site ( beyonce.com) on April 5 sent the social world into a tizzy. Her new site — powered in part by Tumblr — was announced the same day courtesy of the diva’s first Tweet ( @beyonce). Her Twitter account had previously been the most-followed account without a single Tweet, with nearly 4 million followers. While Beyonce has had the account for over five years, she never said a peep until last week. And when fans have been waiting that long — you know it’s going to cause a stir.
Beyonce’s site is ambitious for a Tumblr. Keeping in mind the visual emphasis that has made the platform so popular, the site features a photo-centric theme that is devoid of extraneous frills and side menus. A simple black arrow featuring a slide-out menu allows visitors to seamlessly navigate to Beyonce.com and the rest of her pages, which have all also been redesigned to fit the same easily digestable and visually appealing tone set by her Tumblr.
The overhaul also prominently features links to Beyonce’s social properties, streamlining the fan acquisition process which resulted in a 114% increase in fan acquisition over the previous week. [Read More..?]
ESENCE Music Festival headliner Aretha Franklin’s timeless voice has inspired countless generations of singers, including Beyoncé, who paid tribute to the Queen of Soul on her 70th birthday with a special message via ESSENCE.com.
"Happy 70th Birthday to the Queen, Ms. Aretha Franklin,” she says. “You are an inspiration.”
Speaking to Franklin’s legendary talent and penchant for always doing things her way through the years, Beyoncé adds, “Thank you for making the rules, breaking the rules and making it possible for me to do what I do.”
The singer has continually paid homage to the legends who inspired her, most recently calling the late Whitney Houston “the ultimate legend,” and Etta James one of “greatest vocalists of our time.”
Singer Ledisi also chimed in to share her thoughts on Franklin. “She has enriched my life not only with her voice and music but by being a gracious and loving friend,” she tells ESSENCE.com. “I hope you have the best birthday ever.”

This might be the most adorable and the most extravagant thing we’ve ever heard. Beyonce reportedly asked Christian Louboutin to design his signature red soled shoes for baby Blue Ivy.
Considering baby Blue’s feet are, so far, the most we’ve seen of the tyke since proud papa Jay-Z debuted her first photos on his Life and Times website, the move actually makes some sense. Blue’s tootsies have been swinging from her sling that Mama Bear Beyonce’s been wearing around New York City. The littlest Carter was recently spotted wearing the cutest gold slippers by Marc Jacobs, so it shouldn’t be a shock that she’d be in for some more fancy footwear.
While the shoes may be a splurge for most new babies, remember that this is Blue Ivy Carter we’re talking about! She sleeps in a $3,500 crib and got so many presents when she was born that they were donated to charity.
Regardless of what’s on her feet, we hear baby Blue’s face is changing everyday. We just want to see her adorable mug! Since her mom is one of the world’s most glamorous women and her dad invented swag, we’re sure she’ll look snazzy in just about anything.
Victoria spoke about her successful clothing line, including Beyoncé’s recent outing in a Victoria Beckham form-fitting blue dress. “I was very excited when I saw it online — I screamed and said, ‘David, look!’ Beyoncé is absolutely beautiful and has the most phenomenal body. I’m a huge Beyoncé fan, so it was big for me.”
